- [Cityscapes](https://sheilakernan.com/artwork/cityscapes/): Inspired by personally sourced photographs taken at twilight and beyond, each city scene begins as a cut-up photographic collage. Compositions are carefully considered, with 5-10 different layers of paint and various techniques, such as hand-made patterned stencils applied to billboards and marquees to capture the energy of city life.
- [Florals](https://sheilakernan.com/artwork/florals/): My floral compositions reference my memory and imagination and are meticulously crafted and cultivated through extensive technical skills. Brushstrokes oscillate between ethereal softness, hard edges and thick, painterly strokes. Multiple layers collide, which allude to a feeling rather than a specific scene. 5-10 layers of paint are applied to a 1.5” gallery profile stretched canvas ready to hang on your wall.

One side is airbrushed smooth with a resin-like gloss finish, and thick textured oil paint is on the other. They are a perfect accent piece for your coffee table, dining room table, buffet, or above the fireplace!
